Counsel Contacts vs Firm Prospects

A different buyer, a different price tier.

Firm Prospects is a serious BigLaw attorney intelligence platform with deep employment-history data, predictive analytics for lateral moves, and broad coverage of attorneys at law firms, in-house legal departments, and law schools. It targets AmLaw firms, large legal search agencies, in-house legal teams, and law school career offices. Counsel Contacts is a different product for a different buyer.

This page is honest about both.

When Firm Prospects is the right choice

If you run a large legal search firm, manage in-house recruiting at a corporate legal department, work in BigLaw business development, or operate a law school career office, Firm Prospects ships features that match those workflows. Their predictive model for associate lateral moves, decade-plus of employment history, alumni tracking across firms and corporate legal teams, and law school placement coverage are real product depth that justifies their pricing tier for the right buyer.

We did not build Counsel Contacts to compete with Firm Prospects for these use cases.

When Counsel Contacts is the right choice

If you are a solo legal recruiter or a small-shop firm of two to ten people, the question is different. You need accurate BigLaw attorney contact data to do your job, and the enterprise contract structure of incumbents puts the tooling out of reach. A typical Firm Prospects engagement or comparable enterprise contract requires a sales call, a multi-thousand-dollar minimum, and an annual commitment before you can even see the recruiter-facing product.

Counsel Contacts is built around the assumption that you should be able to see the product on a 7-day free trial, pay $199 a month if it works for your practice, and cancel from your settings page if it does not. The data is focused on the firms where lateral candidates actually work, with continuous updates from each firm's own attorney directory and coverage expanding over time. We do not ship predictive analytics, alumni tracking, or student-facing tools. Those are not core to a solo recruiter's workflow.

Pricing transparency

We publish our pricing on the homepage. $199 per month or $1,910 per year (a 20% annual discount). The 7-day trial includes 300 contact exports and does not require a credit card commitment beyond standard trial mechanics. There is no annual lock-in on monthly plans.

Firm Prospects offers a free tier for individual attorneys and law students with verified academic or law-firm email, but recruiter and firm pricing is not publicly listed. Recruiters considering it should expect a sales call before pricing is shared.
